Pruitt's Near Miss
Scott Pruitt fell just short in the GOP runoff for lieutenant governor yesterday, losing by 2,405 votes (out of 130,029 cast). He clearly had the momentum, and if the election would have been held two or three days later I believe he would have won. A friend of mine, a savvy political observer, e-mailed me last night regarding the loss: "Pruitt's surge was dramatic. I'm heartbroken he fell short. He was the best shot to have someone worrying about the fiscal side of things ... His defeat is another loss for seriousness of purpose within the GOP."
My sentiments exactly.
