We are home from the hospital and I am thrilled to report that Brandy's surgery went very well. Aside from the pain from the incision (which should go away soon), he has no leg or back pain, which to us is nothing short of a miracle. The surgeon was excellent, the hospital was great, and the support and prayers from all our friends and family was amazing. God is good and we are grateful.
As a side note to this update, I want to mention that through this whole thing Brandy hasn't complained at all. He basically hasn't been able to sit much for what seems like forever. He has been standing at the kitchen counter to eat, he stands at work, and he would frequently have to get up in the middle of the night to walk through the neighborhood just so he could get some relief from the pain. All without complaint.
Also, in the previous post I mentioned that after surgery Brandy wouldn't be able to go to work for three weeks, wouldn't be able to lift anything heavier than a one-liter bottle of milk, and may not be able to drive for six weeks. Well, it turns out I was wrong. He actually won't be able to lift anything and cannot under any circumstances bend or twist.
Well, gotta run. Hubby needs help getting his jammies on. (:
