Those Pesky Unintended Consequences
You may have seen in the news recently that Governor Brad Henry vetoed a Republican-sponsored bill which would have gotten state government out of the abortion business by restricting abortions in state-owned facilities or by state employees.
Our Democratic governor’s veto was in keeping with the beliefs of his party, whose national platform declares, “We stand proudly for a woman’s right to choose, consistent with Roe v. Wade, and regardless of her ability to pay.”
But is support for abortion really a good idea for Democrats?
