Black and White
There's a saying in Reformed circles that goes something like this. "When I became a Christian, I got rid of my rock music and started listening to Christian music. Then when I became Reformed, I got rid of the Christian music and went back to the good stuff."
I can sorta relate to that, though I've always tended to like black artists and the Motown sound more than rock and roll. When I first heard this song on the radio, I assumed it was a black Motown artist. Little did I realize it was little Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien from west London. Turns out that Dusty herself was a fan of black R&B sounds. She sang this song on television 44 years ago this month.
