Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch
Last night we went to the ranch rodeo at the state fairgrounds. It's not a professional rodeo, it's a team competition in which working cowboys from Oklahoma cattle ranches compete against each other. (Pioneer Woman blogged about last year's event here and this year's event here.) We especially liked the team branding and the wild cow milking competitions. We were rooting for Pioneer Woman's clan and also another ranch from Bartlesville; Brandon also wanted the Hitch Ranch to do well (one of his longtime bosses, OCPA trustee Paul Hitch, recently succumbed to cancer).
Before last night, we hadn't been to a rodeo in a long time. In fact, we hadn't been since Lincoln and Lillie were this size.
