Is the Constitution Unconstitutional?
Oklahoma's constitution begins with these words: "Invoking the guidance of Almighty God ..."
It ends with these words: "Done in open Convention at the City of Guthrie, in the Territory of Oklahoma, on this, the sixteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven ..." (I'll leave it to the reader's imagination to determine which Lord was walking the earth some 1,900 years before Alfalfa Bill Murray.)
So here's a little thought experiment for you: Would this monument be allowed on the state capitol grounds — or is the constitution itself unconstitutional?
