I had been trained as a preschool teacher, and I had the experience of children falling in love with me—as they tend to do with their preschool teachers. And when I had my own children, I thought, why not just take the things that I know about what children need and their educational development, and apply them with my own children at home. They're just such rich, rewarding years, and I wouldn't want to give them up to someone else.
